Financial guru Dave Ramsey spoke with Good Day Atlanta on Tuesday on rising college costs. He had some ideas on how to keep those costs down.
Dave's tips on how to break the cycle and graduate debt free:
1. Research what you can afford. 2. Apply for scholarships—lots of them. Make applying for scholarships your full-time job. Every little bit helps. 3. Get to work!—Get a part-time job and work your way through. It's proven that students who work get higher grades too! 4. Stay local—in state tuition can be affordable. 5. Commute or live on campus and eat dorm food—don't finance a lifestyle by living off campus, etc.
