County music star Zac Brown is opening his own store on a small town main street to help fund a summer camp he is building for kids.
Zac's wife, Shelly, said the new business will be in Senoia and will be called the Camp Southern Ground Social Club.
"Excellent food, a bar area, live music -- of course, also a boutique tattoo parlor, which will be in the back, which is really exciting," said Shelly.
It will help fund something dear to the singer's heart. Zac is on the verge of a childhood dream – opening a camp for kids.
Camp Southern Ground is on land he's donated in Fayette County will especially cater to disabled kids.
Zac and Shelly Brown are raising four little girls all under the age of 5.
"He grew up going to summer camp. He grew up as a camp counselor and he is such a wonderful teacher. He is so wonderful with children. It has really even shaped the kind of father that he is," said Shelly.
Zac's dream is a vision already being shared by school children in the south metro area. Nikki Weaver's third grade class at Arnco Sargent Elementary school just raised more than $270 in donations for Camp Southern Ground.
"They could not ask their parents for the money. They had to ask for a job," said Weaver.
Zac Brown's store opens at the beginning of summer just in time for the grand opening of the Southern Living Idea House. Proceeds are also going to Zac's Camp Southern Ground.
Zac Brown owns 12 companies here in Atlanta that make everything from leather and metal works to t-shirts, some of what the singer will sell at his store.
"Most people know him for the music and they don't know what an entrepreneur he is," said Shelly.
