Police introduce McGruff to students

Police introduced McGruff the Crime Dog to students at Springdale Park Elementary School on Friday.

ATLANTA -

Atlanta police have a new top dog in the department -- McGruff the Crime Dog.

Police introduced him to students at Springdale Park Elementary School on Friday.

McGruff is the signature anti-crime campaign character of the National Crime Prevention Council and law enforcement departments across the country.

Councilman Julian Bond donated the costume to the department.
