Police are investigating an attempted attack on a female student in a Kennesaw State University parking lot early Friday.
A student told campus police that a man tried to attack her near her car at University Place around 6 a.m.
The attacker wore a mask, but the student described him as an African-American male with dreadlocks. He wore a dark sweater, jeans, colorful Nike tennis shoes and a dark watch. He drove a silver car, possibly an older model Honda Civic, the woman said aid.
Officials sent an alert to students. The original report was that the student was sexual assaulted. In a second alert to students, the university amended that to "attacked."
A university spokeswoman told FOX 5 that it is not clear what the masked man's motive may have been.
Students said the attack was unusual and that the campus is usually very quiet.
Police said the KSU attack is not related to other attempted abductions near other Atlanta colleges.
