Brothers Killed in LaGrange Car Crash


Georgia State Patrol troopers were on the scene of a fatal car accident Thursday afternoon. Investigators said two people were dead and another person was injured.

The accident happened around 11:40 a.m. on Hammett Road, near Callaway High School. Investigators said the driver of a Honda Accord lost control, left the roadway and struck a utility pole on the driver's side.

The driver and front seat passenger were killed. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Christopher Montrez Truitt. The front seat passenger was identified as the driver's brother, 17-year-old Quadrez Demario Truitt. Investigators said Christopher Truitt died at the scene and Quadrez Truitt died on the way to the hospital.

A third person in the car was back seat passenger 17-year-old Scottie Lamar Hixson. Hixson was taken to West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange for treatment.

Quadrez Truitt and Hixson were both students at Callaway High School.

Investigators said Christopher Truitt was operating the vehicle on a learner's permit that was suspended.
