ELLIJAY, Ga. (AP) - Gov. Nathan Deal has signed into law major legislation expanding where people with licenses to carry can bring their guns in Georgia. Hundreds of gun rights advocates gathered for Wednesday's bill signing in Ellijay with top officials including House Speaker David Ralston.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A woman facing charges in the kidnapping of a North Carolina prosecutor's father has turned herself in to authorities in Atlanta. The FBI says Patricia Kramer presented herself Wednesday to the FBI after she was named in indictment with eight others in connection with the April 5 kidnapping of Frank Janssen.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - An Augusta Republican running for Congress cites the Bible in his first campaign commercial as he accuses President Barack Obama of "immoral" spending. Rick W. Allen's 30-second ad began airing Wednesday in eastern Georgia's 12th Congressional District. He's the second of five Republicans in the May 20 primary race to begin advertising on TV.

ATLANTA (AP) - A collaborative of Georgia journalism schools and news organizations will use a $35,000 grant to train investigative reporters. The Georgia News Lab received the award from the Online News Association, a professional group of digital journalists. The collaborative consists of Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University, Morehouse College, the University of Georgia, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB-TV.
