GLENNVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A Glenville farmer who has been fighting the state agriculture commissioner in court says he's shipping Vidalia onions early to supermarkets. Ag chief Gary Black says a new regulation prohibits shipments before Monday. An Atlanta judge last month threw out the regulation but Black says it remains in effect while the state appeals.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - FEMA chief Craig Fugate and National Hurricane Center Director Rick Knabb are challenging emergency managers to help educate coastal residents and developers about hurricane hazards. Fugate says officials should factor disaster preparedness into coastal development. Knabb says people along the East and Gulf coasts should know if they live in an evacuation zone.

ATLANTA (AP) - Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx has made a stop in Atlanta to tour the city's streetcar and Beltline projects. Foxx is traveling the country to highlight the importance of transportation investment.

ATLANTA (AP) - More than 4,000 voters have used Georgia's new Web-based programs to register ahead of the May 20 primary. Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp says the programs are expected to save local elections boards time and money.
