ATLANTA - A national mission following a vision which is consistently stopping foreclosures across the U.S. will be forced to shut down August 4 unless it receives immediate assistance to relocate.
The reason - another foreclosure.
Use of the home was donated to Operation Restoration by a builder whose livelihood was hit by the nation's real estate disaster. The builder is allowing the foreclosure but it leaves the mission stranded, said mission founder Anne Batte.
Batte -- a former real estate broker -- has never been paid for her services, and has funded the organization's operations through personal credit lines.
"I saw a problem and jumped in We provided a bridge when people were drowning. Now we need a bridge until we can get our funds flowing," said Batte.
Operation Restoration has helped nearly 500 homeowners in nine states avoid foreclosure with a 99% success rate, according a release by Operation Restoration.
The operation said they will find another place to stay and continue helping victims facing forclosure.
