CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Another effort to fight crime taking place in Clayton County Tuesday evening -- they call it Operation TEA Party.

Clayton County police maybe calling it a tea party but they say it's no party for criminals.

It stands for Targeted Enforcement Area. The idea is to swarm the neighborhoods around the county that are hit hardest by crime with police officers.

Each week they'll pick a new area and bring in a massive police presence. Tuesday officers were in Rex going door to door.

"We're getting into those areas to try to lure the number of burglaries in those areas so we hit one area target it for a complete week. Saturate it with officers," said Clayton County police Sgt. William Lytton.

Those officers also encouraging homeowners to record the serial numbers and model numbers of all their belongings in case they are a robbery or burglary victim.

Police said the program will continue throughout the year. Each week the target will be a different high crime area.
