Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation were on the scene of a bank robbery at a Wal-Mart in Covington Monday. Officials said the suspected robber announced that he had a bomb on his way out of the store. Police said they believe the robber may have left the alleged bomb behind.
According to investigators, the robbery suspect presented the suspicious package when he asked a teller for money at a bank branch inside the Wal-Mart store.
Investigators said after getting the money, the robbery suspect took off some clothing and left the package in the middle of the store.
Police said they were treating the package as if it was dangerous.
