ATLANTA - A woman was attacked by three pit bulls in Douglasville Monday. Fifty-six-year-old Frankie Forsh was badly injured and has a long road of recovery ahead of her.
Forsh was released from the hospital Tuesday.
The attack reignites the debate over whether pit bulls are more dangerous than other dogs and if more needs to be done to control them.
Doctor Mark Wulkan, a surgeon at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, has operated on victims of dog attacks.
Ami Ciontos works with Pit Bull Rescue Central and owns several pit bulls.
Wulkan and Ciontos discussed the issue at the FOX 5 studios Tuesday night.
A Rasmussen Reports Poll taken in 2009 showed that 80 percent of people blame the owner when a dog attacks, while 9 percent blame the dogs and 11 percent aren't sure.
In another Rasmussen Reports Poll, 57 percent of people did not think pit bulls should be banned. Twenty-eight percent said they should ban the breed and 16 percent weren't sure.
