(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Thousands of rubber ducks invaded a Kansas City, Mo., creek Sunday and it was all for a good cause.

The city held its annual duck derby. The competitors race their ducks -- sporting sunglasses and a big smile – down the creek hoping to cross the finish line first.

This year’s winner rode away in style on a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Proceeds from the race went to the Children's Therapeutic Learning Center. The facility serves children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs.

The ducks have helped raise an estimated $8.5 million for non-profits last year in about 100 cities.
