LEXINGTON, Ga. - A prosecutor will soon decide whether a Lexington grandfather accused of fatally shooting his grandson will face criminal charges.

Authorities say 89-year-old L.S. Anderson shot and killed his grandson, James Robert Tiller II, during a fight Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators said Tiller came to his grandfather's home and got into a fight with an ex-girlfriend. Anderson told authorities that when he tried to intervene, Tiller choked him and threatened him with an ice pick.

District Attorney Bob Lavender said the case is still under investigation. He expects to make a decision on whether to file charges in two weeks.
