The man accused in the beating of an Army reservist outside a Cracker Barrel was in court Tuesday on a bond hearing.

No decision was made as of noon Tuesday and Troy West remains in custody.

West is accused of viciously beating a mother and army reservist in front of her child at a Cracker Barrel in Morrow.

While the 47-year-old West is in jail facing charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, child cruelty, battery and disorderly conduct, his alleged victim, Tasha Hill said she continues to recover.

"I just asked him to be careful because he almost hit my daughter in the face with the door, and the outcome was that he continued just punched me, kicked on me, he called me vulgar names," said Tasha Hill.

The victim said West allegedly repeatedly called her the n-word during the attack.

The FBI is conducting a separate investigation in the restaurant beating to determine if a hate crime was committed.

The judge is expected to make a decision in the hearing Tuesday afternoon.
