WALESKA, Ga. - Cherokee County officials say eight students practicing at a band camp at Reinhardt College in Waleska suffered heat exhaustion Thursday morning.

Two were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities say the students are from Milton High School.

The Milton band director says one of the students didn't have breakfast and wasn't properly hydrated.

Practice was stopped at 10:45 a.m. because of a heat index reading of 105.
