Martreece Tyson recovers at Atlanta Medical Center after jumping 37 feet from a bridge in Smyrna to avoid being hit by a car.

SMYRNA, Ga. - A man who stopped to help a driver who crashed on the East West Connector in Smyrna had to jump to safety early Saturday morning, when he was nearly hit by another car.
Martreece Tyson was hospitalized with serious injuries after jumping over a concrete wall along a bridge, falling 37 feet to a ravine under the roadway.
After he jumped, Tyson used his cell phone to call 911.
Tyson suffered broken bones, and was taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
The driver in the original crash, Rozina L. Virani of Austell, has been charged with DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane.
