ATLANTA - A rally is being held on the city's southeast side to encourage banks to stop foreclosure.
Groups are joining forces to petition the banks to negotiate with homeowners facing the loss of their homes.
The Atlanta Fighting Foreclosure Coalition joined the national and north Georgia AFL-CIO at the First Iconium Baptist Church Thursday morning. The coalition says some who have experienced the agony of foreclosure told their story and that experts from the community and across the country spoke about the impact of foreclosure on American families.
In a release the coalition says after the hearing a rally is planned at the Wachovia-Wells Fargo downtown Atlanta branch to "demand that the bank modify home loans, inform tenants in foreclosed homes of their rights, and expand access to affordable interest loans to communities."
