ATLANTA - The hot-button issue of illegal immigration is reaching a boiling point in Georgia. Arizona's controversial immigration law has sparked protests in that state and boycotts nationwide. Now the topic is heating up in Georgia.
Senator Johnny Isakson says key step must be taken to secure U.S./Mexican border and he said scrutiny of people here is warranted. Isakson said the Arizona law mirrors U.S. law.
Rep. Earl Ehrhart, a GOP leader in the Georgia House who said he would support such a measure here in Georgia.
