ATLANTA - A recent I-Team story on aftermarket parts used to repair vehicles re-ignited a debate about whether generic parts are as good as brand name factory parts.

Many garage owners say these parts can be inferior while others in the industry claim they are not only just as good, but they also help bring down repair costs.

The demonstration stirred passions on both sides. A group that puts the stamp of approval on some aftermarket parts says what FOX 5 showed the viewers was flawed. But a garage owners say the story just highlights problems in the parts industry.
