GRIFFIN, Ga. - A woman, whose daughter and granddaughter were murdered two months ago, said she is using her painful experience to help others. The only suspect in the case, her son-in-law, is still on the run.

Linda Bolton talked about her daughter, Lanell Baker, and her granddaughter Shaelinda Sanders. The two were murdered in their Griffin home on May 17.

The prime suspect in the case is Lanell Baker's husband, Kenny.

Bolton said the relationship between Kenny and Lanell Baker had been rocky, and that her daughter had just filed for divorce, but she wanted to wait until her 18-year old daughter graduated from high school before moving out of the home. At the time of the deaths, Sanders was just two weeks shy of getting her diploma.

"There were some symptoms that this marriage was hostile, but never to the point that we thought it would go to this extent," said Bolton.

It's been almost two months since the murders, and police have not been able to capture Kenny Baker.

"He needs to forgive himself and he needs to come to justice, otherwise it can only get worse," said Bolton.

Bolton said her faith has given her strength to get through the tragedy, now she is honoring here daughter and her granddaughter by starting a program called MADAAM, or Mothers and Daughters Against Abuse and Murder.

Bolton says she will continue to heal by giving support and comfort to others experiencing similar pain.

"How to stay strong, how to persevere, how to have peace when there is no peace," Bolton said.

Bolton and her husband are now caring for Lanell and Kenny Baker's son, Kanay who will turn 12 this Saturday on the two month anniversary of the murders.

MADAAM is hoping to raise $5,000 for a reward in the case.  Donations can be made at any Bank of America branch at the account number, 334028550515.
