Wrong Way Driver Causes Buford Hwy Crash

A wrong way driver sparked chaos and then a citizen's arrest on the Buford Spring connector Wednesday evening.

People who witnessed the rush hour crash sprang into action and held the driver until police arrived.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon on Buford Highway, just before Piedmont Road exit.

The crash caused traffic to bottleneck as drivers tried to avoid the crash.

A group of passersby detained the alleged wrong way driver down an embankment until police could get to the scene.

The driver was taken into police custody.

One person was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
