ATLANTA - Charges against two Georgia men charged with threatening singer Elton John were dismissed on the day a trial was scheduled to begin.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Esmond Adams dismissed the charges against Neal Horsley on Monday. The 65-year-old Horsley, of Carrollton, was charged with making terroristic threats, criminal defamation and using the Internet to disseminate threats.
Alos facing charges was Jonathan O'Toole. O'Toole's charges were also dropped.
Prosecutors say Horsley posted threats against John online and that he picketed outside John's Atlanta condominium with a sign that said "Why Elton John Must Die."
John apparently raised Horsley's ire when he told an interviewer that he believed Jesus was gay. The judge said Monday that Horsley's actions didn't warrant criminal charges.
