College Park fire crews were on the scene of tractor trailer fire on Interstate 85 Tuesday.
The fire happened at Old National Parkway and Interstates 85 and 285.
Dark plumes of thick smoke could be seen for miles and crews battled to contain the blaze.
The fire caused traffic back-ups on both interstates.
The fire burned so close to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport that at times, it appeared that planes landing at the airport flew through the smoke.
There were no reports of injuries as of Tuesday evening. There has been no word on how the fire started.
