Three people are in custody following a carjacking that occurred earlier this week, said Henry County police.
Henry County police said they hope to identify two other suspects who were involved.
Captain Jason Bolton said that on Monday, August 3, five black males went to a residence in Locust Grove in response to an ad on Craigslist.com for a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am.
After test driving the vehicle, one of the 16-year-old juveniles sprayed the homeowner in the face with pepper spray and struck him twice in the head with a closed fist, knocking the victim to the ground.
The two 16-year-old suspects fled the scene in the victims Trans Am.
The other three suspects fled in their gray colored Chevrolet Lumina, which had front end damage -- the grill on the front of the Lumina is possibly missing.
With police responding to the area to locate the suspects, the juvenile driving the stolen vehicle lost control and wrecked along Highway 42. The two juveniles were located and arrested in a joint effort by Henry County Police, McDonough Police, and Locust Grove Police.
The two juveniles were transported to Henry Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries from the accident and then released. They were both then transported to a Griffin youth detention center to await court dates.
Two of the suspects suspects in the Lumina were able to get away. One was later apprehended.
Anyone with information on the other three suspects is asked to contact the Henry County Police Department at 770-288-8304 or call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
Those with information could receive a reward through Crime Stoppers.
