VILLA RICA, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Villa Rica police said Wednesday that a teenage girl could have lost her life after a weekend of drinking binge. Officers said they arrived just in the nick of time to bust up the party and rush the teen to the hospital.
"There was like three or four people [who] showed up that I didn't even know, just showed up out of nowhere," said Cameron, who asked to be identified by his first name only.
The Villa Rica man said he hosted a party that he admitted got out of control early Sunday morning.
"Things just got out of hand, people were intoxicated, under the influence I guess," said Cameron.
Villa Rica police said they were called to Cameron's apartment complex on a loud noise complaint. Investigators said when they arrived, they found 14 underage people drinking, including a 19-year-old who was nearly unconscious and lying on the bathroom floor.
"She was in a dangerous position as far as she was having trouble breathing, was not alert at all, was not able to answer questions. It took them a while to even identify her," said Chief Mike Mansour of the Villa Rica Police Department.
When asked at what point he realized the teen was in trouble Cameron answered, "I never knew because I was all over the place and I didn't know until after the cops showed up."
Authorities said the teen's blood alcohol level was .24.
The Villa Rica incident happened one night after Barrow County authorities busted a Bethlehem couple for providing booze at an underage party where an 18-year-old had to be rushed to the hospital.
Cameron said what scared him the most was when police told him that if anything had happened to his friend, he would have been responsible.
"I basically haven't had any desire to party or drink ever since," Cameron said.
Villa Rica police charged 14 of the 16 people at the party with underage drinking.
According to Villa Rica and Barrow County authorities, the girls in both cases were recovering and out of the hospital Wednesday night.
