ATLANTA - A traffic stop in Atlanta has led police to a double murder in Carroll County.
Police said the driver -- Daniel Dwayne Buckner, 27-years-old -- was acting strangely and that's when he allegedly confessed to killing two people.
Early Wednesday evening, Atlanta police stopped Buckner after receiving a call from a friend saying the person was acting strange and in strange car. The friend gave police a description of the person and the car he was driving.
Police said Buckner had weapons in his possession and also told police he had committed a double homicide in Carrollton.
Atlanta police said the vehicle Buckner was driving was the victim's vehicle. A tag check revealed an address in Carroll County.
Atlanta police then notified Carroll County authorities.
When Carroll County authorities checked the residence in the Peek Squire subdivision, they observed a body inside the home. Police said at that point they obtained a search warrant for the home. Police then discovered a second body. Police said the victims appeared to have been shot.
Police said the victims were a man and a woman and appeared to be in their 40s.
Carroll County authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Buckner.
Police have not released the name of the victims. Police said Buckner appeared to be related to the victims.
Buckner is currently being held in the Carroll County Jail.
