A Clayton County school was placed on lockdown Thursday after word was received that a weapon might be on campus.
Charles White -- a spokesperson for Clayton County schools -- said the message was received as students were arriving to the Perry Learning Center in Jonesboro.
Police put the school on lockdown and students were diverted from the campus.
A search of the school found no weapon.
The lockdown was lifted and the students returned to their classes.
The Perry Learning Center has three facilities: an alternative school, middle school and a testing center.
