Former Atlanta Falcons running back Jamal Anderson has been freed on bond following his arrest on charges of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Jail spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Anderson was released on $6,000 bond just after 8 p.m. Sunday.
The 36-year-old Anderson played eight seasons for the Falcons before leaving the team with a knee injury in 2001. A fan favorite, he created the "Dirty Bird" touchdown celebration dance.
Atlanta police said he and 20-year-old Mark Daniel Hudson, both of Duluth, were in the same stall inside the men's room at Peachtree Tavern in Atlanta's Buckhead district.
Atlanta police spokesman Officer Otis Redmond said both men were accused of having powder cocaine in their possession and that Anderson had a suspected marijuana cigarette in his pocket.
Charges against Hudson were dropped during a court hearing Monday, according to the Fulton County Superior Court clerk's office. Flanagan said he would be released from jail as soon as the paperwork was processed.
