The Habersham County commission decided it wanted to build a new courthouse. Taxpayers voted in a special option sales tax to fund it. But, the commissioners bought land for the new building that state law says can't be used for a courthouse.
To some it made no sense. Buy land for a courthouse in a spot where you can't build a courthouse.
But to the Habersham County Commission, it made perfect sense.
