GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Two workers found human remains in a wooded area, off Drowning Creek Road in Gwinnett County Monday.
Workers with a tree service were on the property at the request of the owner when they found what appeared to be skeletal remains.
Investigators responded to process the scene.
The medical examiner's office ruled that the remains were human and over a year old. Investigators were still in process of determining the gender and cause of death. The identity and circumstances surrounding the victim's death are not yet known.
A preliminary review of dental records by the medical examiner's office said they mostly ruled out the possibility that the remains are those of Justin Gaines, who disappeared November 2, 2007.
The investigation is ongoing.
