CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - A gunman opened fire on a Clayton County home, just missing a couple who was watching TV in their living room.
No one was hurt in the shooting, but Jason and Christina Bard said they were an emotional wreck.
"It was three rounds. A pop, pop, pop and that's when hollow points started flying through our house," said Jason Bard. "Two bullets went here and here then they went different ways."
The Bards said they were sitting at home watching television when the bullets suddenly started flying.
"Honestly I've never been more scared in my life never," said Christina Bard.
The Bards said someone opened fire on their home around 1:00 a.m.
Two bullets pierced the living room window. One narrowly missed the couple as they lounged on the couch.
"It was literally like everything was in slow motion I mean you saw pieces of the blind fly up I got hit right here with the blind," said Christina Bard.
Jason Bard set off his security alarm and he said he thought that scared the gunman who ran off before police arrived.
The Bards said they believe residents along the stretch of Homewood Drive were more vulnerable to crime because there weren't street lights in the neighborhood.
"When it's dark anything is going to happen," said Jason Bard.
Christina Bard said she loved her new home when the couple moved in about a month before the shooting, but couldn't imagine spending another night after.
"This was our dream house and our dream house has turned into a nightmare," said Christina Bard.
Police haven't commented on the case and have not identified any possible suspects in the case.
