GBI Warns Child Porn Attached to Email

ATLANTA (MyFOX ATLANTA) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a warning for the public to be on alert Wednesday after a disturbing child pornography video was sent to unsuspecting Georgians via email.

"The suspect has a distinctive mark on his right forearm maybe a birthmark or scar which has also been seen in the video and he is wearing a ring on his left hand in one of the videos," said Special Agent Jeff Brown of the GBI.

Police released images of the unidentified suspect who was featured in a six minute video that has circulated the internet.

GBI investigators said in recent weeks, they have received reports of unsuspecting Georgians receiving the disturbing video in an email attachment.

"That contains about six minutes of video of child pornography. The victim in this case is around two or 3-year-old female," said Brown.

Investigators said other metro area law enforcement agencies also reported receiving complains.

Authorities said the email may be distributed by a worm virus through Microsoft email services, such as Hotmail accounts.

GBI investigators issued a warning to the public not to open the email attachment.

It’s a felony to possess and distribute child porn in Georgia. Investigators want anyone who receives the email to contact the GBI.

"There is information we can get from the email that might be able to track down this individual who is still at large at this point. The FBI is working this case and we would like to get as much information as we can to help them in their investigation," said Special Agent Kimberly Milka of the GBI.

It is a felony to possess, manufacture and distribute something of this type child pornography. Someone who forwards an email trying to do a good thing, may find themselves in trouble.
