FOREST PARK, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Police said Thursday that they arrested two members of a suspected robbing crew, who police said have hit more than half a dozen businesses within the last month. Investigators said they considered the robbing crew armed and dangerous.
Detective Lieutenant J. Delk said the men held customers and employees at a Forest Park pawn shop at gunpoint. After ordering the customers to the floor, police said the robbers took everyone to a back room and robbed them.
"They shuffle them back to the manager's office where they go straight for the safe, empty out all of the jewelry and cash," said Lt. Det. Delk.
Police said they caught two of the suspected robbers, 22-year-old Markell Rawles and 24-year-old Kalu Onumah. Investigators said they were still looking for a third man they say may be involved.
"I believe they're dangerous, they're all involved, they all have weapons," said Delk.
Police said the men were also being investigated for more than half a dozen robberies in Atlanta, Clayton County and Henry County.
Since Investigators suspect the men are responsible for seven armed robberies involving pawn shops spanning the metro area, the GBI has gotten involved in the investigation.
"We are confident when people see the photo of the individual wearing the sunglasses that someone will call in and give us a tip," said Lt. Det. Delk.
Police said no one was hurt during the seven robberies. The last robbery happened in Forest Park on April 1.
