A highway was shut down Wednesday at Dobbins Air Reserve Base due to a suspicious package inside a car parked at the entrance of the base.
Dobbins Air Force Base security was called in to deal with the unknown device inside a vehicle parked off Highway 41.
A 5,000 foot perimeter was set up around the main gate. Traffic was shut down to Highway 41 from the entrance ramp to Delk Road as authorities dealt with the threat. Marietta police were called in to assist with traffic control around the base.
No injuries were reported as of Wednesday afternoon.
