A DeKalb County high school student said Friday that she was sexually assaulted by a group of boys inside a school locker room. DeKalb County school police are investigating the allegations at McNair High School.
Investigators said the girl said five boys she didn't know assaulted her earlier this month.
"I want to show her that if anything ever happened to her child to do exactly what I'm doing [because] that's not right to take an innocent, that's not right," said the girl's mother, who wasn't identified to protect her identity.
The DeKalb County school system said there was an active police investigation.
"There was two boys that grabbed her and pulled her into the locker room, [she told me there were] three other boys in there," said the girl's mother.
The girl told police that one of the boys forced her to perform oral sex.
"She was trying to get away but she couldn't because the other boys were holding her," said the girl's mother.
The girl reported the alleged assault to the McNair High School Principal the next day and that's when police and the girl's mother were called.
"I was crying with her actually when I was talking to her," said the girl's mother.
The girl's mother said she wants to make sure the boys who are responsible are charged. "We both forgive them. Me and my daughter, we forgive them but you know what? That's it. You can't be going around doing that to young ladies," the girl's mother said.
The 15-year-old girl hasn't been back to school since the alleged attack. The girl has switched schools and her mother said she's going to get counseling.
At this point there have been no arrests in the case but police said it was an open investigation.
