PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - Authorities say exploitation of minors on the internet is the most under-reported crime. That is one of the reason's officials in Paulding County hosted a Cyber Safety Summit Wednesday night.
Parents were invited to the summit to learn about the potential dangers lurking on the internet for children.
The event was held at East Paulding High School and law enforcement officials were on hand to educate parents.
The goal of the summit was to show parents how they could embrace the benefits of the internet while simultaneously safe-guarding their children from online exploitation and other dangers.
The summit is one of the first of its kind in Georgia.
Event organizers said they hoped to dramatically decrease the number of potential child victims in the areas of online exploitation.
