A federal judge sent a message in a child pornography case Wednesday. Judge Owen Forrester sentenced a Cobb County man to one of the stiffest prison terms ever seen for possessing child pornography.
The U.S. attorney called the case against Philip Gerry of Mableton one of the worst cases they have ever seen.
Investigators said they found 70,000 images of child porn of Gerry's computer, including pictures of children being raped and children engaged in bestiality.
The 58-year-old Mableton man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for possessing child pornography.
