One 42-year-old Metro Atlanta woman hadn't walked in 11 years, but recently that all changed.
Jennifer Howard hasn't been able to walk for 11 years. Recently, Howard was admitted to Specialty Care of Marietta after being hospitalized for three months. Howard had a hole in her colon.
Howard has also had knee replacement surgery and had to lose over 100 pounds before the surgery could take place.
Howard received therapy at Specialty Care and can now walk without assistance.
Howard's road to recovery has not been easy, the Canton woman is legally blind, but after cataract surgery has regained some vision.
After facing the odds, the Canton woman will soon be moving into her very own apartment.
Now, Howard must start her life over. Howard is registered at Wal-Mart for anyone who is interested in lending a helping hand.
