DVD Series Helps Alzheimers Patients

ATLANTA, Ga. - A metro Atlanta woman has created a set of DVD’s designed to help Alzheimers patients and their families deal with the disease.
Gayle Horton has worked in senior care for more than thirty years. She had an uncle who struggled with Alzheimers.
She has created the DVD series called “The Journey Remembered”. The DVD’s include a series of images from scenarios from childhood and adult life, such as children playing in a meadow and young girls having a tea party.
The images are designed to spark memories for Alzheimers patients. Horton says “It’s so exciting to see that I awaken something that was sleeping, that we’re going to those deep rooted memories in the posterior part of their brain.”
Right now, there are two DVD’s available. A third is in the works.
